Team Leader (Mining) – Underground Operations – Steelpoort

Job Description

A chrome mining operation in Steelpoort is seeking a hands-on Team Leader to run underground production shifts and keep safety front and centre.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily re-entry examinations, risk assessments, and mark-off support checks
• Manage safe blasting of underground excavations and reef/waste development
• Maintain consistent mining cycles across blasting, cleaning, and support activities
• Plan and coordinate crew activities to meet production targets
• Ensure full compliance with the mine’s Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC) system
• Implement legal and company safety standards on every shift
• Report progress and issues to the Miner / Shift Boss

Requirements

• Recognized mining qualification or equivalent underground production experience
• Sound understanding of blasting, support, and safety procedures
• Proven ability to lead and coordinate an underground crew
• Medical Certificate of Fitness for underground work
• Strong communication and reporting skills
