Our client is recruiting a Mining Engineer – Chrome Mine Opencast Mining & Commissioning based in Brits, North West (Permanent (Full-time)). This is a live mining-sector vacancy — apply today to be considered.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Mining Engineer with strong experience in open cast chrome mining to join our operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, mananging and optimizing all aspects of open pit mining activities, from production scheduling to operational effieciency and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop and implement daily short, medium-, and long term mine plans for open cast chrome operations.
• Optimize drill and blast, load and haul and waste stripping operations
• Conduct pit design and scheduling in alignment with geological requirements
• Ensure full compliance with mine health and safety standards
• Use mining software (e.g. Surpac, MineSched, or similar) for planning and reporting purposes.
• Work closely with geology, processing, maintenance teams
• Provide technical support for mine development projects

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or Diploma in Opencast Mining
• Minimum 2-5 years experience in chrome open cast mining
• Solid understanding of chrome ore characteristics and production processes
• Demonstrated experience in production scheduling and pit optimization
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to work in remote or site-based locations
