Maintenance Fitter

Job Description

Provide mechanical maintenance and repair services as a Fitter at an underground mining operation. You will oversee equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairs and upgrade projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine equipment maintenance per schedules
• Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs
• Replace worn components like pumps and gears
• Execute preventative maintenance programs
• Document all work through detailed reports
• Comply with all safety policies
• Identify performance improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams
• Provide training and support to technicians
• Assist with new equipment installation projects

Requirements

• Post-matric qualification in engineering or related field
• Trade tested qualification as a Fitter
• 5+ years fitting experience in mining operations
• Valid driver’s license
• Demonstrated mechanical repair experience
• Flexibility for shift work schedules
• English language proficiency
