Job Description
Safely rig heavy loads and manage shaft operations at an underground mining site.
Purpose of the Job
To rig and lift equipment and materials using overhead cranes.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Grade 12/NQF Level 4 qualification
- Trade certification as a Rigger
- Valid driver’s license
- Minimum 3 years experience as an Artisan
- Medical certification for the role
Competencies
- Skill operating overhead cranes
- Ability to plan rigging operations
- Knowledge of rigging regulations
- Familiarity with rigging equipment and accessories
Key Performance Areas
- Conduct engineering studies for rigging
- Erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding
- Determine rigging requirements
- Inspect equipment prior to use
- Communicate during crane operations
- Manage shaft examinations and repairs
- Provide on-the-job training
